Since 1990, Macmillan has been running the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning to raise money for people living with cancer. What started as a simple idea, has over the years gone from strength to strength, to become a brilliant social event that has to date raised over £200 million for this amazing charity. This year, the event will be held on Friday 27th September (or you can choose another date if it suits you better).

How Does It Work?

All over the country, people will be hosting their own coffee mornings in their homes, at work, or anywhere else where it’s possible to do so. The idea is that your guests simply make a small donation in return for coffee (or tea if they prefer) and cakes, or any other goodies you offer, and every penny raised will go towards a thoroughly worthwhile cause. Guests can even be asked to bring their own baked goods to share, to make it more fun and add variety to the occasion.

How Do I Get Involved?

Hosting your own event is easy; Macmillan will send you a free Coffee Morning Kit with everything you need to invite friends, family, neighbours and colleagues to take part. Simply sign up at Macmillan here. Or if you'd like to find a coffee morning near you, check out the live map here. Be sure to share your own coffee mornings using #MacmillanCoffeeMorning on Twitter and Instagram.
