Volcano and waterfallsIt’s hardly surprising that Old Brown Java Coffee is one of Coffee-Direct’s most popular customer choices, with its rich, intense flavour, low acidity, and delightful aroma. It makes an excellent espresso, and is great for an Americano, flat white, cappuccino or latte. In Old Brown Java Coffee you will find a satisfying depth of flavour, with an earthiness and slight sweetness, that results in a well-balanced, full-bodied cup. It is suitable for use in bean-to-cup, cafetière, espresso and filter machines.

Grown on Java’s mineral-rich volcanic slopes, Old Brown Java beans go through an ageing process over a period of at least two years, where green beans are exposed to the warm, moist air of the rainy seasons, intensifying their flavour and turning them light brown in colour. Java is one of Indonesia’s largest islands, with a climate perfect for coffee cultivation. Coffee was introduced to Indonesia in the late 1600s, and exports began not long after, under the control of the Dutch East India Company. The popularity of Javanese coffee over the years has resulted in the word ‘coffee’ being colloquially referred to as ‘Java’.

Old Brown Java Coffee is just one of over 100 wonderful coffees from around the world that Coffee-Direct can deliver directly to your door. We roast to order, so your coffee will always arrive in the freshest condition possible, and offer a range of grind options as well as whole beans.
